My name is Ralph Jones. I began serving my apprenticeship in the family trade of woodworking on my thirteenth birthday. To date, I have 61 years of experience in the field. I worked in the Carpenters and Joiners Union for seventeen years, where I taught an apprenticeship program for five years. Following that, I taught Vocational Carpentry for a combined teaching total of sixteen years. I then became a building inspector for three years and then semi-retired in 1997 and opened a custom woodworking business, specializing in drafting and furniture restoration. I am the quiz writer for WOOD Online® and a forum moderator for Cabinets Plus®, as well a having a program on a local radio station in my home town.I am now the forum host on the Arts and Crafts Furniture on WOOD ON LINE, as well as writing the A&C History on another forum. I am one of the Master Administative Group for the Arts and Crafts Society where I am also one of the hosts or moderators to keep he forums running smoothly. My home business of making Arts and Crafts furniture has now gained National recognition and I am now known from border to border and sea shore to sea shore. I hope to continue teaching woodworking for many years to come. I have been in woodworking 61 years.
